Designed especially for medium to very large farms, Tonutti’s towed finger wheel rakes, Dominator and Millennium, have strong, flexible V frames, hydraulic self steering, and 140cm rake wheels to give a working width up to 11.5m.

Members of the design team at Remanzacco near Udine in northeast Italy explain that the objective was to make a versatile hay tool capable of working on mountain sides as well as on the flat, “and capable of handling all types of forage, from delicate Lucerne to heavy stubble”.

When the ground is rough, the independent, flexible lateral frames with hinges attaching them to the rear section, with the spring-mounted finger wheels, allow the rake to follow the ground contour closely. The finger wheels have also been designed to avoid any beating effect so that delicate forage is pushed gently into a loose and fluffy windrow without destroying leaves, so high nutrition value is maintained.

The special steel 7mm tines ensure clean, compact and shapely swathes, If a wider or narrower swathe is needed, no changes in the frame are required, just a hydraulic cylinder movement activated in the cab. These large rakes have low tractor power requirements and can be used with 30-60hp tractors and like other Tonutti products, ease of operation is standard.

Since the implement is towed, there is no transmission or shaft or universal joints, this means lower fuel consumption and maintenance costs which increases the income per hectare. The hydraulic opening system swings out the rake and shortens the draw bar at the same time. “To ready the rake, takes four simple operations, remove the transport lick, connect the hydraulic lines, set the finger wheel height, then adjust the two rear raking wheels to set the windrow width”.

The Millennium series comes in 16, 18 and 20 wheel configuration, the Australian distributor; Dakenag has a special consignment of V18 Millenniums for this season. Contact them on 1800 636 451 for more details and your closest Tonutti dealer.
