Established as a family firm in 1864, Tonutti first built relatively small machines and implements and later ox-drawn ploughs. The years following WW2 saw the demands for all types of agricultural machines to an increasingly high standard.
The finger wheel rake has been the star of the line for many years with a production of over 10,000 rakes a year, manufactured across their 5 plants in Italy.
Tonutti service very strong and emerging markets today including India and China. Altogether the firm is represented in 38 countries all over the world.
In addition to the finger wheel line Tonutti offers mowers, mower conditioners, tedders, and now after the acquisition of the Wolagri Company balers, bale wrappers.
The Wolagri Company are a well established and respected brand in Europe producing round balers for contactor, farmer and lifestyle farmers. With a diverse range from the traditional large variable chamber, affordable fixed chamber down to the little R500 which produces a bale with a diameter of 57cm.
Two years ago the resourceful Italians extended there line with the Quasar Air Seeder direct drill. The Quasar won the Innovation award at the prestigious EIMA machinery exhibition in Bologna 2008. The Quasar was developed for large-area seeding. However, it can also be converted to a precision drill for maize. With flexible openers, the spacing between the vanes can be varied so it is possible to drill in bands as well as in rows
A key feature of the Quasar is that its depth control is more uniform.
Early versions of the machine from inventor Mauro Collavati have been working successfully in Europe for many years. As the machine is so light, it is also suitable for older tractors with lower power.
The Australian distributor Dakenag has been selling and supporting the Tonutti rake line since the demise of the Sunbeam Agricultural division in 2000. “The new products offered by Tonutti represent a great challenge to us at Daken. While we are accustomed to a challenge the excellent support we get from Tonutti we will enable us to achieve a great result” commented Cole Jones General Manager of Dakenag.
