PETER CARR PLUMBING: DECADES WITH BOBCAT

The Peter Carr fleet of Bobcat equipment is the backbone of this business.

Peter Carr Plumbing specialises in all aspects of plumbing, including domestic and commercial. The Bendigo-based company offers general plumbing services, gas-fitting and servicing, roofing, renovations, sub-divisions, hot water and septic systems, rainwater tanks and construction services. To get the job done, Peter Carr Plumbing has a fleet of Bobcat equipment including two skid steer loaders, one compact track loader and five mini excavators.

Peter Carr, owner of Peter Carr Plumbing, says, "Bendigo has a lot of hard, rocky ground, so you need equipment that can handle the job. There's not a lot of soft ground to work with, so our machines are fitted with rock breakers. We also have a 1 . 1 tonne excavator for really tight access in subdivisions and residential areas, as well as larger machines so we know we can handle any job that comes our way.

"I've had Bobcat machines for 20 years because they are good all-rounders with plenty of attachments to give us lots of versatility. I particularly like the engines because they are incredibly reliable. In 20 years I've never had an issue with an engine in one of my Bobcat machines. As long as you maintain and service the engines regularly, they'll never cause a problem. "As a busy business we don't have time for machines that break down but we do push them hard. That's where the service comes in. We service the machines regularly and Bobcat of Bendigo has always looked after us very well. If there's an issue, they get us back up and running fast."

Peter's range of Bobcat equipment includes five mini excavators: the 418, E20, E35i, and two E50s. He also has two skid-steer loaders, the 8185 and ~205, as well as a T590 compact track loader.

Peter says, "Our customers vary from home owners to large developers but they all have one thing in common: they just want us to get the job done. That's where the Bobcat machines come into their own. I've driven other machines but the build quality and reliability of the Bobcat equipment stands out. "We turn our machines over regularly rather than simply working them to death so it's rare that we experience a problem. When we see other people having issues with machines, it's usually due to neglect rather than any fault of the machine.

"One of the key selling factors for the Bobcat machines for me is the computer shutdown system mode. This means that, if an issue is brewing, the engine will shut down rather than blow up, saving the machine. It can be important when you're using a team of operators because the best operator in the world may not know how to check the oil properly, for example. The computer shutdown system mode means the machine won't suffer if the operator get: it wrong. I haven't had to use it yet but it's nice to know it's there."

Due to the diversity of jobs it does, Peter Carr Plumbing takes full advantage of the diverse range of attachments available for it Bobcat equipment to perform a wide range of jobs. Bobcat Company is the world's leading attachment manufacturer and offers the most attachments in the industry. Bobcat attachments and implements help to grow businesses, add versatility, replace less efficient machines and provide the tools to accomplish major projects.
